Art Therapy – Transforming RECYCLED materials into ART

We want to encourage you to think of materials that end up in the trash or as recycled and unusable in a different way!  Get inspired~  Collect your plastic bags and bring to this class!!!! Here you will find out how these ‘throw away’ items can transform into wonderful pieces of art.  Stretch your creativity and imagination.  It is so wonderful and relaxing to know that each material object has multiple purposes.  We will be SHOWCASING this work into an art show at the end of the month on RECYCLED ART. Create abstract surface designs that are reminiscent of painting with plastic…. sound intriguing?  Get your ART ON PEOPLE!

Saturday April 14 @ 2pm  Wednesday 18 @ 7pm, Wednesday 25th @ 7pm

Kombucha & Mushrooms as an Elixir for Healing! Learn to make your own~

Kombucha is an effervescent tea-based beverage that is often consumed for its anecdotal health benefits or medicinal purposes.  This traditional Japanese elixir is said to detoxify the body and energize the mind.   In this workshop you will learn and be guided step by step on how to make your own.  You will be provided with all the tools and materials so that at the end of these lessons, you will have made your own KOMBUCHA!!

Sunday April 8, 15, 22, & 29 1pm- 2:30pm

Movement Therapy – Harmonize to One

Enjoy a healing approach to Movement within yourself through combinations of meditation, breathe work, visualization, vocalization and the use of music, all supporting a graceful guided journey into the discovery of meditation in movement… Awaken the mind through awakening the body is the motto to follow with the goal to bring each participant into refinement, relaxation, and to become aware and one with the simplest of movements, escalating to more explorative movements, it’s not about the movement itself, but by the acknowledgement of how each slight movement, when done consciously, affects the brain, the breath and connections in ones entire body. The awareness one has during this process in feeling conscious of all the minute parts of movement that make them up is therapeutic in creating HARMONY and WELLBEING!

You’ve all been reading the news about government crackdowns on patient associations that were allegedly not in full compliance with California state law. At the Arts District Healing Center, we are taking measures to ensure that we are in full compliance and that we are able to continue serving you for the indeterminable future. In efforts to safeguard our organization, Arts District Healing Center is re-registering all existing members and revamping membership requirements. To demonstrate private membership, all re-registering members will be required to provide membership dues at $12 a year. These funds go directly to our collective cultivation efforts. To demonstrate that our members do collectively cultivate, all re-registering members will be required to participate in some level of our collective cultivation, from soils development to flowering. All existing members have the choice to re-register no later than January 2nd, 2012.

‘Collective cultivation is not an option; it is a prerequisite for membership. Your participation in cultivation is what directly keeps our overhead low and allows us to provide your medicine at the lowest reimbursement possible. Please do not take lightly the responsibility that comes with membership, but experience it as an opportunity for incredible personal and political growth. Our rights as patients are on the line and it is up to every member to stand up and fight. All it takes is soil, water, sunlight, and love.’
